So the next iPhone will be made in India?
It’s Official now that Apple will start manufacturing iPhone in Bengaluru, India. Apple gets the green signal to manufacture iPhones in India and is expected to start production from this June i.e. 2017.
As per a release by the Karnataka Government, Apple will be making its new product in India i.e said to be the next iPhone which is the iPhone 8. In December there was news about apple starting a manufacturing plant, is came true this month when Apple had a talk with the senior government officers from Karnataka state.to finalize the terms of its operations in India. It is not clear if Apple got the heavy tax exemption approvals it was seeking from the government.
As per the release, which was signed by Karnataka IT Minister, Priyank Kharge, “Apple will foster cutting edge technology ecosystem and supply chain development in the state, which is critical for India to compete globally.”
They did not mention any timeline for iPhone the manufacturing process in the Bengaluru. The Apple-Wistron manufacturing facility will be based out of Bengaluru’s industrial hub Peenya. Source says that there is no deal or MoU is been finalized between the state government and Apple.However, the Karnataka state IT minister Priyank Kharge had tweeted about the Apple plant at Bengaluru. The Tweet was later deleted by the minister.
Karnataka’s state officials met with senior management from Apple including – Priya Balasubramaniam, VP, iPhone Operations, Dheeraj Chugh, Director, iPhone operations, and more. The government also said that it was looking to collaborate with Apple in other areas of innovation as well.
This will be Apple’s third global iPhone assembly unit, putting India on the radar of the world’s most iconic and valuable company. Apple’s interest in manufacturing product from gives a good message to the other valuable companies to show interest in India. Apple is expected to start assembling iPhones in the country initially, with plans to manufacture the device end-to-end in the near future. Manufacturing iPhone will lead to less cost for apple but we can’t expect a very less costly iPhone cause the Apple brand has huge value, the most in the world but can surely hope that the next iPhone will cost little less than the current iPhone.
